KOVAR is a Virginia State Council of the Knights of Columbus charity designed to help those citizens in our community with intellectual disabilities.  The donations are given to organizations that assist these citizens regardless of race, creed, color, or religious preference.  Members of the Knights of Columbus and their families team up with local businesses to accept donations and distribute free Tootsie Rolls at locations throughout Virginia every year for this worthy cause.  This year (2009), Ascension Council will be collecting donations on Saturday and Sunday, April 25 and 26 as well as Saturday and Sunday, May 16 and 17.  If you would like to volunteer to help, please see the attached schedule and e-mail your preferences to Rick Johnson at stumpa10@comcast.net.  The schedule will be updated regularly.
